I have an Allan Cameron born 1812 in Argyll, who then married Helen Stronach in Contin, Ross & Cromarty in 1835.  I assume he moved around because of the clearances, but does anyone know of a particular reason why an Argyll Cameron would have gone to R & C during that period?  Allan Cameron & his wife Helen moved to Glasgow by 1841, then to Liverpool shortly after, before emigrating to Australia in the 1850s.

I can't attach Allan to any particular family in Argyll (too many Allan Camerons born that year in Argyll!) so I'm a bit frustrated.  His parents names weren't recorded on anything that I've got.
