Plea to Scottish Camerons

As a result of the Highland Immigration and Bounty Migrant schemes which brought thousands of Highlanders out to Australia as free settlers in the mid 1800s (many of whom were Camerons), the Australian descendants of these Camerons are very aware that lost in the present population of Scotland are members of a family into which they connect. Sadly this connection is as yet unknown.

The Gaelic Language

It was good to hear the Gaelic language being used at the Memorial Service at Culloden on Saturday, 17th April. After a long period of years in which parents discouraged their children from using Gaelic, we have seen a small but significant rebirth in recent years.
